WEF: GovTech - Future of Government
About
Governments have integrated technology into public service delivery for years. The next decade presents a new wave of possibilities with GovTech. GovTech – short for government technology – is the design and application of technological products and services in public institutions to improve public service delivery. As such, GovTech has enormous potential to create a more responsive, inclusive, transparent and better performing public sector that better meets the needs of citizens. This era of governance with GovTech is poised to redefine the future of government and governance. With rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), Blockchain, data analytics and other emerging technologies, the world is entering a transformative phase where governments can go beyond modernization and begin to fundamentally redesign operations, interactions and impact. In this global virtual session, participants will discuss how GovTech can reshape governance, enhance public services and improve lives worldwide. This session dives into how technology can empower communities, create more accessible and responsive public services and drive smarter, data-informed decision-making. It will explore how GovTech can not only streamline public services but also deepen engagement, enhance transparency and create a more inclusive, data-driven approach to governance. From digital platforms that bring government closer to citizens, to AI-powered tools that optimize resource allocation and address complex societal challenges, the possibilities are vast.
